This pilot study developed a screening framework to identify Local Resource Options for securing water resilience among high-value agricultural producers in Norfolk. By integrating technical modeling with stakeholder co-design, Axion delivered a roadmap for collective catchment resilience that protects both food security and sensitive environments.
Taith Media Services Framework
Axion Solutions has been appointed to the Taith Media Services Framework by Cardiff University, supporting the Welsh Government–funded Taith international learning exchange programme. This multi-year framework provides comprehensive media and communications support to enhance Taith's public profile and outreach across Wales and internationally.
Mapping Change Across England's Landscapes
Axion Solutions has been commissioned to deliver the Open Mosaic Mapping Project for Natural England. This initiative will provide the first comprehensive national analysis of open mosaic habitats — dynamic and biodiverse landscapes often found on post-industrial or brownfield sites.
England Green Infrastructure Mapping Database
This project delivered the first national Change Detection Reporting Exercise for England’s Green Infrastructure Mapping Database, establishing a robust five-year benchmark. Axion developed an automation-enabled spatial workflow to distinguish genuine landscape changes from data artefacts, creating a credible long-term monitoring instrument.
Boosting Water Resilience for Farmers in Norfolk
Axion Solutions has been selected by the Environment Agency to deliver a Local Resource Option (LRO) Screening Study in the Mid-Wissey catchment. The project will explore practical, farmer-led solutions to strengthen local water resilience.

Axion conducted a district-wide Invasive Alien Species assessment for Derry City & Strabane District Council, mapping infestations across 37 council-managed sites. The study utilized a Traffic-Light Classification system to transition the council from reactive maintenance to a strategic, data-led restoration program.

Under the Ocean Country Partnership Programme, Axion designed and delivered Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) training to strengthen marine biodiversity monitoring in Sri Lanka. Appointed to Support Welsh Government on Land Valuation
Axion Solutions has been selected by the Welsh Government to help test and evaluate new methodologies for land valuation across Wales. This pioneering project will provide essential evidence to inform the future of local taxation policy.
Partnering with Natural England on NCEA
Axion developed national frameworks and digital infrastructure to transform the coordination and mobilization of citizen science for the NCEA programme. The project combined standardized survey frameworks and an interactive resource library to empower volunteers and align local data with national environmental policy.
Short-Snouted Seahorse Habitat Recovery Programme
Axion managed the manufacture and deployment of artificial "Seahorse Hotels" to support the recovery of protected short-snouted seahorses in Sussex Marine Conservation Zones. Utilizing HSE-qualified scientific divers, the project established geo-referenced spatial assets that provide essential refuge in high-pressure marine environments.

Axion undertook a comprehensive geospatial update of the national Open Mosaic Habitat inventory, reviewing thousands of habitat polygons across the UK. SSSI Tenure Identification and Mapping Protected Site Contracts
To facilitate national condition assessments, Axion executed a national-scale land referencing project covering over 99,000 hectares of protected sites. The project created a high-accuracy tenure infrastructure and "Access Contacts for Surveyors" system to help Natural England meet its statutory monitoring targets.
